Several cases of COVID-19 reported at Waverly nursing home

first_imgThe health department says it is coordinating the Tioga County Emergency Management to “assess and provide” personal protective equipment for employees. The county health department says staff have fully implemented infection-control protocols and are working hard to ensure the safety of Elderwood residents. The Tioga County Public Health Department says cases involve residents, who are in isolation, and staff. Staff were notified of the first infection at the nursing home on April 9. Tioga County Public Health Director Lisa McCafferty says the department is working with Eldwerwood to assist in “anyway they can.” McCafferty says they have been in communication with the New York State Department of Health about the situation as well. Two injured in Franklin County crash

first_imgBatesville, In. — A Tuesday head-on crash at 6 p.m. in Franklin County injured two area residents.A report from the sheriff’s department says a car driven by Joan Laughlin, 83, of Oldenburg, was northbound on State Road 229 when she went left of center. Laughlin struck another car driven by Patrick Wilber, 33, of Sunman.Both drivers were treated at Margaret Mary Health. The accident remains under investigation.last_img

However, changes have also increased concern about what the future of the gambling industry may hold – on both sides.”In her speech, Davies backs UKGC Chairman William Moyes’ initiative to develop wider support networks for problem gambling, embracing the capacity of UK national health structures.In its mandate, the UKGC underlines that it wants to move UK gambling support structures ‘from simply counting problem gamblers’.“Supporting action on gambling-related harm is now a priority for Public Health England. This a really important step. And their evidence review will help to inform action on prevention and treatment.“I’m keen that future work builds on the strong arrangements already in place for coordinating and commissioning treatment.“We have a national network of counselling services. And GambleAware funds existing NHS gambling services – such as the National Problem Gambling Clinic in London – as well as the GamCare helpline.“I saw first-hand the vital frontline work both carry out, providing support to those who need it.”last_img read more
