STRICKEN SOCCER STAR MARK FARREN GOING TO MEXICO TO UNDERGO LIFE-SAVING TREATMENT

first_imgFormer Finn Harps and Derry City player Mark Farren is heading to Mexico in three weeks time to undergo life-saving treatment. Only last week it was revealed by Mark’s family that recent surgery to remove a brain tumour was not successful. The only option left for Mark was to undergo revolutionary treatment in either Germany or Mexico. However, the procedure would cost £30,000 and a fundraising initiative was set-up by friends, family and former teammates of Farren. The response has been absolutely incredible and the family have now raised the amount required to ensure Mark can undergo the treatment he desperately needs to save his life.A star studded Derry City XI will take on Glenavon at Mourneview tonight with all proceeds raised going to the Mark Farren treatment fund.A bucket collection will take place at Finn Park tomorrow night during Harps clash with Waterford United. A number of other fundraising initiatives are in the pipeline and anyone who can make a donation is begin asked to do so in order to help Mark and his family. If you’d like to donate simply log onto http://gogetfunding.com/project/mark-farrens-treatment-fundSTRICKEN SOCCER STAR MARK FARREN GOING TO MEXICO TO UNDERGO LIFE-SAVING TREATMENT was last modified: May 8th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:FeaturesFundlife-savingMark FarrenMexiconewsSporttreatmentlast_img read more
