Greensky Bluegrass Delights For Two Nights In Michigan [Gallery/Recap]

first_imgGreensky Bluegrass pulled double duty at The Intersection over the weekend, playing two shows on Friday and Saturday nights to a Grand Rapids, MI crowd with support from The Shook Twins and Billy Strings. The two-night run was filled with the soul-stirring songs from Greensky, who have been picking up new fans by the scores on a nightly basis. The forward momentum caught fire, as the group opened the run with “Worried About The Weather” and never looked back. The band was loose on the first night, welcoming Luke Winslow King for a version of the traditional “Will The Circle Be Unbroken?” Some teases during the second set, including “Happy Birthday” and “Makisupa Policeman” in the second set “Fo Sho Uh Huh” made this great show even more fun. Sandwiched in the midst of a “Broke Mountain Breakdown,” the band was absolutely cooking. Their encore version of Grateful Dead’s “Eyes Of The World” was the icing on the cake!Day two kept things right on rolling, as the band opened up with “Feeling Alright” by Traffic (popularized by Joe Cocker). The show also saw Billy Strings sit-in on the classic blues number, “Workin’ On A Building.”The show featured a Travelin’ Wilburys tune, “Handle Me With Care” and a ton of great Greensky originals (throughout the entire run), proving their versatility and craftsmanship as musicians. The run closed out with a double encore of “Heaven Sent” and “Frederico”; Some great performances from the Greensky boys! All photos courtesy of Kristine Condon Photography, and a full gallery of night two appears below.
