New ISP Squad Leader named in the Versailles District

first_imgVersailles, Ind. — Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglass Carter has promoted Bryce Harris, of Columbus, to the rank of sergeant and will now serve as a district squad leader in the Versailles district.Harris is a 1995 graduate of Franklin Community High School and attended IUPUC from 1995 to 1999. He graduated from the 65th Indiana State Police Academy in April of 2006. Harris worked in the Seymour district until it closed in 2010, then was transferred to the Versailles district. He has served as a member of the Clandestine Laboratory Team, Tactical Intervention Platoon and Honor Guard.Harris will now supervise a squad of troopers tasked with patrolling Zone 1 in the Versailles district. Zone 1 includes Jackson and Bartholomew Counties. He fills the vacancy created after Lt. Paul Adams was promoted to District Commander of the Versailles Post.Lt. Adams recently stated, “Sgt. Harris has been an extremely hardworking trooper throughout his career and is very deserving of this promotion.  He truly represents the values of the Indiana State Police.”Sgt. Harris lives in Columbus with his wife and two children.last_img
