first_img by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The following are a list of criminal court complaints recently filed by the Sumner County Attorney’s office.These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.•••••Miguel Ibanez, born in 1985, of Wellington, has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp, and criminal possession of a firearm. All these charges are felonies.According to the complaint, Ibanez placed another person in immediate harm with a handgun.He also allegedly had in his possession methamphetamine which he intended to sell, an electronic scale for distribution, and no official drug stamp as evidence that tax has been paid on such item. He also allegedly owned a handgun which is illegal for him to have, because it fell within 10 years of a previous conviction for a criminal threat felony.•••••Jordan Theobald, born in 1990, of Wellington is charged with criminal damage to property, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.According to the complaint, Theobald unlawfully damaged property, by throwing a glass and poster against the wall during an argument. Theobald also allegedly had marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his possession during the time of the argument.•••••Alicia Maddox, born in 1980, of Wichita, and Michael Maddox, born in 1980, of Wichita are charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia – all misdemeanors. Michael Maddox is also charged with domestic battery after allegedly grabbing Alicia’s throat and threatening to kill her.•••••Shane Hulm, born in 1989, of Anthony, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of hydrocodone, possession of marijuana, driving while suspended, and having no liability insurance. The possession of hydrocodone is a felony charge. The others are misdemeanors.•••••Andrew Smith, of Wichita, born in 1973, of Wichita is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and introducing contraband into a penal institution. Two charges are felonies, while the drug paraphernalia possession charge is a misdemeanor.According to the complaint, Smith allegedly without the consent of the Sumner County jail administrator of the correctional institution introduced or attempted to introduce meth onto the Sumner County jail grounds, after a Sheriff County deputy discovered a purple bag containing meth residue in his pants.•••••Sarah Case, born in 1993, of Wellington, is charged with consumption of alcohol by under age adult and consumption of alcohol in a prohibited place, both misdemeanors.•••••Jonathan Wells, born in 1988, of Wellington, is charged with speeding, driving while suspended, failure to provide insurance, two counts of felony theft and one count of misdemeanor theft.According to the complaint, Wells was driving a Silver Pontiac at 94 miles per hour in a 75 mph zone at mile post 2 on the Kansas Turnpike on March 10, 2013 while his driving privileges were suspended. After a motor vehicle check, it was found that the car belonged to a Gary Melton in Tulsa, Okla., valued between $1,000 and $25,000.Allegedly, the car was originally owned by Ben Rush in December 2012 and it was sold to Melton. Wells allegedly delivered the vehicle and a forged title at the time. He also allegedly obtained a .45 caliber pistol which was in the car.•••••Jessie Mullendore, born in 1992, of Harper, Kansas is charged with speeding, failure to provide proof of insurance and possession of alcohol by underage adult.•••••Rebecca Gonzales, born in 1975, of Caldwell, is charged with disorderly conduct. Gonzales came to a practice field during track practice and used profanity addressed towards other students present.•••••Ross Clevenger, born in 1990, of Derby is charged with criminal use of a weapon, a level 9 nonperson felony; and a detective tag light. Clevenger allegedly had a Mossbury pump 12 gauge shotgun with a barrel 15.25 inches long.•••••Michael Padgett, born in 1978, of Wichita is charged with identity theft, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana. The first two charges are felonies, the marijuana possession charge is a misdemeanor.•••••Corey Cessna, born in 1987, of Argonia is charged with domestic battery, a misdemeanor; and criminal threat, a felony. According to the complaint, Cessna made physical contact with a family or household member by grabbing her neck and head butting her. He then angrily grabbed and pushed her. He then allegedly said, “I should kill you now.”•••••Douglass Lazarus, born in 1994, of Mulvane; Joshua Rodriguez, born in 1994, of Mulvane and Kevin Fahring, born in 1994, of Derby; are charged with consumption of alcohol by underage adult and conspiracy to consume alcohol.According to the complaint on March 17, 2013, the three consumed alcohol at a party in the 1400 block of 11th Ave. in Sumner County and tested positive for alcohol on their breaths.They allegedly consumed alcohol while under 21 years of age.•••••Brendan Auzat, born in 1989, of Wellington was charged with two counts of forgery, both felonies; and theft, a misdemeanor.According to the complaint, Auzat attempted to deposit a check of $825 written from another account when not authorized to do so at a local bank. He also attempted to cash another check at Wal-Mart. He also allegedly attempted to take three blank checks from a checkbook not his own.•••••Darwin Dean, born in 1972, of Wichita was charged with failure to signal turn, driving while suspended, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The cocaine possession is a felony while the other three are misdemeanors.According to the complaint, Dean was pulled over on March 22, 2013 after failing to signal while turning on to U.S. 166.last_img
