Manchester City could be missing key trio for Germany UCL trip

first_img1 Manchester City could be without Joe Hart, Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Borussia Monchengladbach.Hart was left on the bench during City’s disastrous defeat to Tottenham on Saturday lunchtime after suffering a back injury in training.Kompany, meanhwhile, was a late withdrawal from the substitutes’ bench after suffering a recurrence of a calf problem, while Toure started but picked up a hamstring injury in the second half. Now the trio are major doubts to make the midweek trip to Germany – a blow to City’s hopes of a claiming a first victory in Europe this season.“I don’t think Kompany will be okay for the Champions League,” said Pellegrini.“He injured his calf against Juventus but he did not recover 100 per cent. He was fit enough to be on the bench but he felt problems in his calf in the warm-up.“Joe had a problem in his back during the week, and he worked for just one day, that’s why we decided he missed the game.“Yaya had some problems in his hamstring. I don’t know how serious, we must wait until tomorrow or Monday. We’ll see what the doctor says.”City were also without David Silva against Spurs due to injury, but Pellegrini is hopeful he will return to face Monchengladbach. Joe Hart last_img
