first_imgA funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today for Edward Neil “Eddie” Young, owner of Canoga School of Music in Canoga Park, who died Oct. 4 in a motorcycle crash in Oxnard. Young, 45, of Oxnard was a graduate of Chatsworth High School and Pierce College. While earning his bachelor’s degree in music from California State University, Northridge, he performed with the Valley Master Chorale. He purchased Canoga School of Music in 1996, and was active in the local business and civic communities. He also wrote and taught music, coached vocal students and performed in local rock bands. Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Lisanne Young of Oxnard; stepson Alex Muniz; parents Jacqueline and Edward P. Young of West Hills; grandmother B. Beth Currie; and siblings Lauranne Christov, Patrick Young, Paula Young-Libby and Neil Matthew Young. A Mass will be celebrated at Santa Clara Catholic Church, 323 S. E St., Oxnard, with a reception afterward.
