LETTER TO THE EDITOR Selectman Jonathan Eaton Endorses OMahoney Bendel Caira For Selectmen

first_imgDear Editor:I write in support of the candidacies of Jomarie O’Mahony, Greg Bendel, and Kevin Caira for the Board of Selectmen.Selectmen Bendel and Caira have worked to prioritize public safety concerns, both by pushing to engage with the MBTA with the commuter rail issues at the North Wilmington Station, and by increasing staffing in the police and fire departments, the latter of which moves us closer towards realizing a long-overdue North Wilmington Fire Substation.  They continue to push to revise the process of accepting unaccepted ways, and cyclically presenting multiple unaccepted ways for acceptance at town meeting.  They have advocated for increased and responsible affordable housing with the drafting of an inclusionary zoning bylaw. They have pushed for a more organized and citizen-driven approach towards designing our local economy through forming an economic development committee.Jomarie O’Mahony is a dedicated and skilled community leader who will seamlessly transition her advocacy for our community to the Board.  As the founder of a consistently-growing grassroots community organization that provides meals, household goods, utility bill assistance, holiday gift and care packages, back-to-school supplies, scholarships, and school staff recognition awards, her commitment to improving our community is beyond reproach.  Her advocacy as a child welfare attorney demonstrates a dedication to protecting the most vulnerable members of our society, and has prepared her well for advocating on behalf of the residents of Wilmington.Jomarie O’Mahony, Greg Bendel, and Kevin Caira have demonstrated a dedication to serving our community that is unparalleled in this election, and each seeks to lead by uniting, rather than dividing.  I ask that you join me in voting for Jomarie O’Mahony, Greg Bendel, and Kevin Caira on Saturday, April 27.Very truly yours,Jonathan EatonLike Wilmington Apple on Facebook.
